Josie Rosario, LMSW, MSEd, RYT

Three years ago, I left the therapy space and thought I’d never return.

Aside from own painful experiences in the field, I was disillusioned by a system that claimed to heal but often perpetuated harm. I also couldn't see a way to practice with the spiritual integrity my lineage demanded of me.

As a descendant of healers in the 21 Divisiones tradition, I knew there was more to transformation than what traditional therapy offered, but I didn't have a roadmap for integration.

I thought I'd redirect my training toward non-clinical healing work, but Spirit had other plans. Those years away became the deepest initiation of my life, a sacred unraveling that prepared me for the next iteration of my calling.

When Spirit called me back to clinical work, right as Pluto entered Aquarius no less, I returned transformed, with the blueprint, spiritual maturity and embodied conviction to practice in the most integrated, authentic way.

I also had the tools, wisdom and experience to create something that, true to my nature, would be disruptive and deeply impactful.

Venus+Legacy was birthed from that initiation. It’s the embodiment of Spirit working through me for collective good.

It’s also a space where therapy and spirituality don't just coexist, but dance together in right relationship, and in service of healing that transforms lineages and creates new legacies.

    I have a 12H stellium in Scorpio that includes Pluto. Translation: I was literally born to do healing work, which I’ve been doing for many, many lifetimes.

  • I identify as a bilingual, bicultural Black Dominican-American cis/het womxn, proud daughter of immigrants and native New York (City)er. I grew up in a low-income, single-parent household, with a deep sense of culture, community, and service. My life has been shaped by the first gen experience, relational trauma and financial instability, as well as transformative educational and professional opportunities, international travel, and healing. My experiences, and that of the people who trust me with theirs, constantly leave me in awe of the vastness of the human experience and our deep capacity for change.

  • I’m very much a mix of the Queen of Swords and the Empress - super motherly and nurturing, and exacting in my communication (ofc, I have Mercury in Virgo 🙃)

  • Warm, direct, and authentic. Clients often describe working with me as having a big sis or wise elder share hard-won secrets and lessons about the journey we're both on. I just happen to be a few steps ahead and have specialized training.

  • Aside from astro, which is the foundation of our approach, I routinely use tarot, breathwork and spiritual mediumship to connect with guides and ancestors.

  • Before stepping into my true calling as a therapist, I spent seven years as a public school educator and leader, both domestically and abroad (my former kindergarten students are now in college!). I also had a brief stint as a business coach for private practice therapists, which sharpened my operational and strategic skills, and I enjoy using as an entrepreneur.
